Davenport Set to Start Season Out West; Reveals 2026 Plans
(January 9, 2026)
Only a month removed from wrapping up the 2025 season in the Gateway Dirt Nationals, Jonathan Davenport and Double L Motorsports will kick off their 2026 campaign this weekend at FK Rod Ends Central Arizona Raceway. The 20th Annual Wild West Shootout has moved back to the Casa Grande, Arizona facility and the popular six-race miniseries that runs from January 10-18 will be book-ended by a pair of $25,000 to win events. The other four shows during the unsanctioned Wild West Shootout will boast a $10,000 paycheck. Watch all six races LIVE on FloRacing or access more information at www.wildwestshootout.net.

As for the rest of the year, the #49 team has elected not to follow a national touring series and will instead pick-and-choose where they compete during the course of the season. Jonathan will be in action at crown jewel events across the country, as well as high-profile races in between. If you are a promoter or track owner and would like to see “Superman” fly around your track in 2026, email Jonathan at schedulethe49@gmail.com. Double L Motorsports is actively putting together their entire schedule and any confirmed race dates will be added to the official schedule on www.jonathandavenport.net.

“It will be a little different for us not running a series full-time or competing for a Championship, but at the end of the day, we’re still trying to win every time we unload,” quoted Davenport earlier today. “I am looking forward to being at my son Blane’s fishing tournaments more often and supporting him whenever I possibly can. I’ve always enjoyed going to new racetracks and might even be open to trying a different genre of racing.”

“We’ll still be all over the country chasing big money in the #49 like always,” Davenport went on to say. “But it will be refreshing to show up at all of these tracks because we want to and not because we have to be there for points. Not saying I won’t ever run for points again in my career, but it is just not in the cards for this year.”

Double L Motorsports would like to thank all of their marketing partners in 2026 including Ace Doran Hauling & Rigging, Nutrien Ag Solutions, ASC Warranty, Mark Martin Automotive, Mega Plumbing of the Carolinas, Mt.
